Upstream is a joint venture between Imperial College and Hammersmith & Fulham Council, with the aim of helping biotech, digital and creative businesses succeed. Their vision is to create a vibrant and world-class innovation district that attracts start-ups, scale-ups and corporate businesses, and demonstrates the immense potential that the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham has to offer.
Upstream came to Foundry Digital armed with a distinct, vibrant brand identity that represented the bright energy and enthusiasm that the organisation brings. They required a website design that could incorporate their unique branding, and present the services that Upstream offer in a clear and easy-to-use way. It was key for the website to promote Hammersmith & Fulham as a borough, as well as raise awareness of the businesses that currently operate there. Targeting employees, job seekers and business owners alike, Upstream required a platform that promoted their service in a way that could be engaged with by everyone.
Foundry Digital worked with members of the Upstream team to understand more about who they wished to target and what the overarching goals of the website would be. Having established the purpose of the platform, this was incorporated into website designs that were created to be as engaging and eye-catching to website visitors as possible. As well as this, it was made a key objective for our web designers that the information provided by Upstream was laid out in a clear and understandable way, allowing visitors to easily navigate to the pages, services and events information that they required.
The Upstream website is a vibrant and positivity-inducing platform that incorporates the organisations branding throughout, and comprises a structure and layout that is both logical and functional. Bright calls-to-action direct users to get in touch or discover more about what’s on offer, thereby encouraging Upstream’s target audience to engage more with events, news, and other businesses within the Hammersmith & Fulham area.
